She has co-directed writers’ conferences and retreats and enjoys mentoring young writers. She describes herself as “a writer helping writers.” Poetry from the Desert Floor, is a collection of photographs and poems reflecting Patricia’s love of the southwest desert and the people, places, and things that inhabit it. Her first novel, The Last Confession, launches the Father and Wife Series featuring Maggie Callahan and her surprising love interest as they solve intricate mysteries and pursue justice.

"PAT KELLEY'S poetry gives the reader a fresh and engaging perspective on the harsh beauty of the desert. Her poems and photos capture the effect of weather, work, and the will to survive on the people, plants, and animals of this unique environment. It is a sensitive and perceptive visual and written remembrance of life well-lived in a place far removed from the mainstream."
